The Book is a collection of short stories. The first story there is titled- Kachra Factory hence the book is called Kachra Factory and other Stories. All the stories in the book are issue based. If 'Kachra..' discusses the politics and corruption, 'The Real Gigolos' discusses the human and girl trafficking an 'Counterfeit' discusses the issue of fake currency notes. These stories, although issue based , are interestingly written and open a tremendous insight into Indian Society today.
Its author Ashok Kumar, was born and brought up in Jhansi. He studied TV/Radio and Cinema in London and has been on his own- a writer, producer and director of short and documentary film. He has been teaching cinema and TV at the Film Institute at Pune. Currently he is Professor Media at Mudra Institute of communication, Ahmedabad.
