Steel Authority of India (SAIL) will start a vitrification plant in Chhattarpur district of Madhya Pradesh and MOIL (Manganese Ore India Limited) a ferro-alloy plant in naxal-affected Balaghat. Union minister for steels and mines Narendra Singh Tomar on Monday said that SAIL will come to Bundelkhand while MOIL and NALCO would set-up power projects while also establishing smelter plants in the state.

The Union minister was here in Madhya Pradesh capital to brief the media on achievements of Narendra Modi government's one-year in office. Speaking on upcoming projects in Madhya Pradesh under the steels and mines ministry, Tomar said, "There is huge deposits of iron-ore in Chhattarpur district which is why SAIL will bring its vitrification palette plant to the Bundelkhand region. NALCO will start an aluminium smelter plant in the state soon as a coal block is allocated for it in a location with adequate bauxite deposits in the neighbourhood."
