Friends of Orchha, is a Swiss non-profit organization established in Geneva in 2006 by several European friends of an Indo/Swiss-Dutch couple, Asha D’Souza and Louk Vreeswijk, who are now permanent residents of Orchha. 1. Vigyan Shiksha Kendra, Atarra (Banda)
VSK founded in 1973 by a group of scientists led by Dr. Bharatendu Prakash of Banda district( then at I.I.T.Kanpur), has been active all these thirty five years pursuing its concerns. VSK has encouraged many youths to start their own organizations which number more than twenty spread all over Bundelkhand ( UP+MP) and Poorvanchal of U.P. and initiated organization of poor and small farmers in this region. Prawas is a non-profitable,non-Governmental civil society registered act under 21 (1860 ), established in 9 september 2009. This is a group of 9 young professional’s,met in CAPART,new delhi and then built this youth organization, which led by Mr. Ashish Kumar.

Prawas works in the field of enviournmental issues in distt Banda (Bundelkhand ). It also work for people’s advocacy through RTI act 2005.It also support the social movements for the people’s jal, zamin, jungle and animal’s rights.
