News : 3 undertrials escape from Jhansi jail, policemen suspended 

Three undertrials escaped after scaling the prison wall in Jhansi district in the wee hours of Thursday prompting authorities to suspend three police personnel.

The three undertrials identified as Munna, Matadeen and Jeetu, all residents of Jhansi, had been brought to the jail between June and August, sources said.

An inquiry has been initiated by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jail.

"The prison guards have been placed under suspension and strict action will be initiated after the completion of the inquiry," Secretary Home Kumar Kamlesh told reporters in Jhansi.

A case has been lodged in the Nawabad police station and efforts were on to nab them.
