Bundelkhand package to provide diesel pumps facility
The Bundelkhand Package, sanctioned by the Centre covering Madhya Pradesh's six districts - Chhatarpur, Damoh, Datia, Panna, Sagar and Tikamgarh - has earmarked Rs 90 crore for providing power and diesel pumps facilities on wells in farms benefiting about 45,000 farmers. Official sources said a grant of Rs 20,000 will be given for setting up a diesel pump.
Under the 'Kapil Dhara' scheme, 5,668 farmers in Sagar, 7,623 in Damoh, 8,414 in Panna, 12,281 in Chhatarpur, 8,706 in Tikamgarh and 2,308 in Datia have been identified for setting up diesel pumps in their farms. Besides, chain stop dams will be constructed in the six districts benefiting 57 lakh people in rural areas.
