Allahabad High Court directs UP Govt to prevent suicides in Bundelkhand

Taking a serious note of reported suicides,including of farmers, in Bundelkhand due to famine, the Allahabad High Court, on Friday, directed the state government to file counter affidavit (reply) stating the benefits provided in the state budget for this area or otherwise in the year 2013-2014 and 2014-15 for people, including farmers, in Bundelkhand to provide them food during famine period and discourage them from taking the extreme step.
