Pragi Temple- A Marvel of Architecture

Left is the main body of the temple and its tower and above is the engraved images of Hindu Gods on the walls of the temple.


Pragi Temple is situated in Khinninaka locality of Banda (WEST). It was built by Pragi Lal Gupta about 200 years ago. The Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. The tower of the temple is pyramidal and fully decorated with engraved sculptures. The courtyard of the temple has many sculptures which depict episodes from the epics viz. the Ramayana and the Mahabharta. The architectural designs of the roof and temple walls are marvels. It is said that Pragi Lal Gupta made Huge profit in his dyes business and to express his gratitude towards Lord Shiva, he built this temple.
