Shri Bhairon Prasad Mishra asked about creation of Bundelkhand in Parliament

Creation of New State of Bundelkhand

A resolution for division of Uttar Pradesh into four new States namely, Paschim Pradesh, Bundelkhand, Avadh Pradesh and Poorvanchal was received from the Government of Uttar Pradesh in November, 2011.

A set of information was sought from the Government of Uttar Pradesh on this subject in December, 2011 which was not provided by the State Government. Presently, no proposal for creation of new States from the existing State of Uttar Pradesh is under consideration of the Union Government.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary in a written reply to Shri Bhairon Prasad Mishra in the Lok Sabha on 9 December 2014.
