(NEWS) Soldier Bala Prasad ends life in Jammu.

Banda solider Bala Prasad was found hanging with a ceiling fan inside a PCO of Signals Company at Bari Brahamna, on the outskirts of Jammu-winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning.

Defence Spokesperson Lt Col SD Goswami said that body of 40 years old Havildar Bala Prasad of Signals Company was found hanging with a ceiling fan, this morning at 7 AM inside a PCO where he was deputed for the job.

He said that deceased belonged to Banda in Uttar Pradesh.

"A court of inquiry has been ordered into the case," said the Defence spokesperson.

Bari Brahamna police have also registered an FIR in this connection under section 174 Cr PC.

Sources, however, said that deceased was a widower and his wife had died in 2005, adding since then he had been suffering from hypertension and remained admitted in Military Hospital Satwari for a couple of months.

He was discharged from the hospital on September 26 this year and had to proceed on leave from November 8.

Sources said that yesterday at 11 am he had talked to his 14 year-old son on phone but this morning at 7 am he was found hanging inside the PCO.
