Bundelkhand Expressway is a proposed six lane access controlled highway which will connect west uttar pradesh to east uttar pradesh via Agra and Allahabad..
It is expected to be modelled upon much hyped Agra Lucknow Expressway, which was inaugurated in 2016.
As per Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority(UPEIDA) tenders and News Reports tenders for feasibility study etc has been invited, and work will start soon.
Proposed Highway route will be along Agra, Jhansi, Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakoot, Allahabad. As a mark of remembrance to late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajyapee, the U.P government has announced to rename the upcoming Bundelkhand Expressway as 'Atal Path' .
UP Govt is working with UPEIDA, MoRTH, NHAI to develop the highway.
Bundelkhand Expressway will be a four-lane project of 293 km long, starting from Jhansi and it will pass through the State’s most backward districts like Chitrakoot, Banda, Hamirpur, Jalaun, and Auriya. This financial year, a budget of Rs 650 crore has been earmarked for the project. It will start from Jhansi and passing through the backward districts of Chitrakoot, Banda, Hamirpur, Auraiya and Jalaun, will reach Etawah and join Agra-Lucknow expressway.
