बांदा। कालिंजर किले को पर्यटकों को लुभाने एवं आकर्षित करने के लिये बुंदेलखंड टूरिज्म कारपोरेशन एवं मध्यप्रदेश पर्यटन निगम के बीच एक साझा रणनीति तैयार कर ली गयी है।
मध्यप्रदेश पर्यटन निगम ने खजुराहो, माधवगढ़, कालिंजर, अजयगढ़ सर्किट को हरी झंडी दी है। इसके अंतर्गत पर्यटक कालिंजर में रुककर किले एवं आसपास के दर्शनीय पर्यटन स्थलों को भी देख सकेंगे। इस सर्किट को मध्यप्रदेश निगम अपनी वेबसाइट पर जल्दी ही देने की तैयार में लगा हुआ है।

Banda solider Bala Prasad was found hanging with a ceiling fan inside a PCO of Signals Company at Bari Brahamna, on the outskirts of Jammu-winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning.

Defence Spokesperson Lt Col SD Goswami said that body of 40 years old Havildar Bala Prasad of Signals Company was found hanging with a ceiling fan, this morning at 7 AM inside a PCO where he was deputed for the job.

He said that deceased belonged to Banda in Uttar Pradesh.

"A court of inquiry has been ordered into the case," said the Defence spokesperson.

Hundreds of acres of fertile land have been rendered barren due to illegal mining. The farmers have given up ploughing the fields.

The mining mafia have set up around 500 illegal quarries and dynamite and compressors have shattered the serenity of the region.

Machines are used for digging 10-15 feet deep holes in which dynamite is blasted. About a thousand such detonations are carried out each day.

According to NHRC, there have been 100 suicides and hunger deaths in just two of Bundelkhand's seven districts (Jhansi, Jalaun, Lalitpur, Banda, Chitra-koot, Mahoba and Hamirpur) over the last four years.

Bundelkhand voters put candidates through a test

People in the drought-hit Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh are forcing aspiring Assembly candidates to take a written test. This comprises a 25-point questionnaire to test a candidate’s knowledge of the rural economy and the problems farmers face.

Desperate to win over the otherwise apathetic electorate – the region covers four Assembly seats — candidates are visiting villages to write the test titled “Face-to-face with the reality in Bundelkhand” and “Experience Proforma”.
