Centre would give a special package of Rs 4,310 crore for the development of Bundelkhand region, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Suresh Pachauri said today. "The Centre is contemplating to announce a special package of Rs 4,310 crore for the development of Bundelkhand soon," Pachauri said in a statement here.
The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned a loan of Rs 546.46 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) to the Uttar Pradesh government for construction and modernisation of 8,200 blast-wells covering eight districts.
Nabard chief general manager DP Misra said since 1995-96, Nabard has sanctioned a cumulative financial assistance of Rs 8,494.46 crore to the state government for executing 22,279 projects.

Succumbing to the pressure of the Uttar Pradesh government, the UPA government at the Centre has called for a meeting exclusively with the former over effective implementation of development programmes and welfare schemes in Bundelkhand region next month.
The proposed meeting is likely to be held on November 10, but its venue with be announced shortly. The meeting could be held either in Lucknow or Jhansi.
